2026 Board Forward Applications Open

$1,000Board Forward is a leadership development initiative designed to strengthen Executive Director and Board Chair partnerships and build a more resilient nonprofit sector across York County. Offered through a collaboration with Leadership York and the York County Nonprofit Collaborative, Board Forward will bring together up to eight nonprofit leadership pairs for a six-month, in person cohort from May through October.
This program is designed for organizations ready to strengthen governance practices. It combines expert led sessions with peer learning to enhance leadership alignment, clarify roles and responsibilities, and build stronger board and staff relationships.
Participants will gain:
- A join leadership action plan
- Updated governance documents and board practices
- Clear succession and onboarding frameworks
- More effective and efficient board meetings
- A certified designation upon completion that enhances credibility with funders
- A structure for post-program progress reporting
Cohort limited to up to 8 pairs.
Tuition is $1,000 per pair, with financial assistance available upon request.
