Temple Univ. Harrisburg – Lunch & Learn Webinar: Using Your Voice for Change

September 16 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

Join Temple University Harrisburg for their Lunch & Learn webinar series – Using Your Voice for Change: Advocacy at the individual, Community, and Systems Level.

This is a foundational webinar designed to help professionals understand how advocacy can begin with their own voice, experiences, and connection to community needs. The session will explore what advocacy is, how it manifests in everyday life, and how individuals can engage with systems, organizations, and policymakers to support meaningful change. Participants will leave with practical awareness of how to identify issues, communicate needs, understand decision-makers, and advocate more confidently for equity and improved community outcomes.

The session will be facilitated by David Wiles. CCHW, CHES, the Executive Director of the PA Community Health Worker Collaborative (PACHW). In his role, David has built PACHW’s operational foundation and stewarded a statewide network of 500+ CHWs and allies, convening partners across sectors to strengthen alignment and accelerate progress toward CHW sustainability. David’s work centers on elevating CHW leadership and building the policy and financing conditions needed for long-term impact. He has mobilized CHWs and partners for large-scale Capitol advocacy efforts and developed CHW-facing  leadership and advocacy programming, including a Leadership & Advocacy Academy that strengthens storytelling, policy engagement, and systems change capacity. Before leading PACHW, David served as a Senior Community Health Worker at Cornerstone Care and as a Service Coordinator supporting residents in affordable housing—roles grounded in resource navigation, cross-sector partnerships, and removing barriers to care and basic needs. He holds a B.S. in Public Health from Slippery Rock University and is certified as a Community Health Worker (CCHW) and a Health Education Specialist (CHES®).

Webinar is free with registration. Register here.
